Laser Cutter Project Blueprint Vault

A free, ever‑growing library of laser‑cutter designs, step‑by‑step guides, and best‑practice notes for makers, hobbyists, and small‑business creators.

What is the Vault?

The Vault is a single‑click download hub where you’ll find:

  • Blueprint PDFs – detailed layouts, material specifications, and tooling notes for a wide range of projects (from sign making to custom furniture).
  • Tutorial videos – short, focused clips that walk you through each stage of a design, from CAD to finished laser‑cut piece.
  • Design‑reuse packs – pre‑made groups of compatible parts that you can drop into your own projects.
  • Community‑submitted tweaks – user‑tested improvements, such as faster feed‑rates or alternate material recommendations.

Everything is free. The only cost is the time you spend creating and testing your own laser‑cut projects.

Who is this for?

  • Small‑business owners looking to prototype or produce unique, laser‑cut goods.
  • Educators who need simple, reproducible designs for workshops or classroom projects.
  • Tech‑savvy tinkerers who like to dig into the details and tweak the parameters themselves.

Tips & notes

Quick Tip: Add Kerf Compensation Before You Cut

When you export a vector file for the laser cutter, the laser beam actually cuts a tiny strip of material—called the kerf—instead of a perfect line. If you ignore this, parts that are supposed to snap together may end up too tight or too loose.

How to add kerf compensation in your design software:

StepActionExample (0.1 mm kerf)
1Select the geometry that will be cut.2 cm × 5 cm rectangle
2Use the “Offset” or “Stroke Width” tool.Offset outward by 0.1 mm
3Export the file (SVG or DXF).Ready for upload to the cutter
Pro tip – Most laser cutter software has a Kerf Compensation setting in the job properties. If you’re using a different tool, just remember to add that offset manually as shown above.

Doing this once will save you a lot of trial‑and‑error with fitting parts together. Happy cutting!
