LocalScript UI Loading Screen Optimizer

Make your Roblox games feel instantly responsive.

A lightweight, drop‑in LocalScript that smoothes out UI loading spinners, pre‑loads assets, and reduces perceived lag for players—without rewriting your existing UI code.

What It Is

The LocalScript UI Loading Screen Optimizer is a single, self‑contained LocalScript you place in any ScreenGui. It:

  • Detects when Roblox UI elements start loading (e.g., Instance.new, ContentProvider:PreloadAsync).
  • Shows a minimal, customizable overlay that keeps the player’s focus on the game.
  • Pre‑loads common assets in the background so the next screen appears faster.
  • Restores your original UI once loading is complete.

All of this runs client‑side only, so there is no impact on server performance or bandwidth.

Who It’s For

AudienceWhy It Helps
Indie Roblox developers who want a polished feel without a full‑scale loading system. One script, no extra infrastructure.
Mid‑size studios looking to reduce churn caused by long UI waits.Improves perceived performance with minimal effort.
Students & hobbyists experimenting with UI flow.Easy to drop in, fully documented, and open to tweaking.

If you already have a UI loading system, the optimizer can complement it by handling the brief moments where default Roblox loading spinners appear.

Key Features

  • Zero‑code integration – copy the script into any ScreenGui and enable it.
  • Custom overlay – choose color, size, and optional logo in a simple configuration table.
  • Asset pre‑loading – automatically queues assets referenced by the current UI hierarchy.
  • Smart fallback – if the game already uses a custom loader, the optimizer stays dormant.
  • Performance‑light – runs on a single RunService.RenderStepped loop; negligible CPU impact.
  • Full source – you receive the original, readable Lua file for debugging or extending.

How It Works (in 3 Steps)

  1. Detect – The script watches Instance.DescendantAdded events for UI objects that trigger loading.
  2. Overlay – As soon as loading begins, a thin overlay with a spinner appears.
  3. Pre‑load & Restore – While the spinner runs, the script pre‑loads assets, then removes the overlay and reveals the ready UI.

All of this is handled inside the client, keeping server scripts untouched.

Pricing

VersionPrice (USD)What You Get
Pro$15Full optimizer script, detailed documentation, priority support, and future updates.
Lite (free)$0A trimmed‑down version with the basic overlay only; no pre‑loading or configuration options. The lite version is listed on the Roblox Creator Marketplace and includes a link to the creator’s Patreon/Ko‑fi for the Pro upgrade.

Distribution & Getting Started

  1. Roblox Creator Marketplace – The Pro version is listed as a paid plug‑in. The description contains a link to the free Lite version and a brief note directing users to Patreon/Ko‑fi for the full feature set.
  2. Free Lite download – Users can install the Lite script directly from the Marketplace page.
  3. Upgrade path – The Lite description includes a short paragraph: “Enjoy a richer loading experience? Support the project on Patreon/Ko‑fi and receive the Pro script with full features.”

  • Community monitoring – All comments on the Marketplace page are checked weekly for bug reports or feature requests.
  • Weekly time investment – Approximately 2 hours per week are spent on community support, answering questions, and releasing minor updates (e.g., compatibility fixes).

If a critical breaking change occurs, an urgent patch will be released within a few days.

Our Goal & Roadmap

MetricTarget

Paying customers10 Pro licenses
Revenue checkpointReview progress after 48 hours of launch.
Kill ruleIf after three review periods (no revenue) the project is not meeting the checkpoint, development will pause.
Boost ruleOnce revenue reaches $50, additional marketing (e.g., a short dev‑blog) will be allocated.
Clone ruleIf revenue reaches $500, we’ll consider creating a sibling plug‑in that adds animated loading bars.

These internal metrics guide our ongoing commitment, but they do not affect the user experience or the price you see on the Marketplace.

Ready to Reduce UI Wait Times?

  1. Visit the Roblox Creator Marketplace and download the Lite version to try it instantly.
  2. Watch the quick Before / After video in the developer community channels.
  3. If you like the smoother feel, support the project on Patreon/Ko‑fi and receive the full Pro script.

LocalScript UI Loading Screen Optimizer – simple, fast, and built for the Roblox community.

Tips & notes

Quick Tip: Pre‑Cache Your UI Images

A common bottleneck in Roblox loading screens is the repeated download of the same UI assets.

Here’s a simple way to cut that overhead in half:

-- Put this near the top of your LocalScript
local assetId = 12345678 -- Replace with your actual asset ID
local imagePath = "rbxassetid://" .. assetId

-- Pre‑cache the image so it’s loaded into memory before the UI is created
if not game:GetService("ContentProvider"):IsPreloaded(imagePath) then
    game:GetService("ContentProvider"):PreloadAsync({imagePath})
end

Why it works

PreloadAsync forces Roblox to download the asset immediately and keep it in RAM.

When you later assign Image = imagePath to a ImageLabel or ImageButton, the engine can display it instantly instead of waiting for a network round‑trip.

Quick Checklist

  • Use the same rbxassetid:// string for every instance of the image.
  • Call PreloadAsync once before the loading screen starts.
  • Keep the image file small (≤ 1 MB) and use an image atlas if possible.

Try it out and see the loading time drop before you even touch the UI. Happy optimizing!
