# Tiny Dragon Hatchfest

A simple, experimental game where you hatch and raise tiny dragons with unique traits—no complex systems, just quick, satisfying gameplay.

### **What It Is**
- A **Roblox Studio** prototype testing a core mechanic: **randomized dragon hatching** with visual and behavioral quirks (e.g., fire breath, ice wings, or lazy naps).
- Built to see if players enjoy the **surprise and customization** of raising small, odd creatures.
- **No microtransactions, no grind**—just a tiny, self-contained experience.

### **Who It’s For**
- **Roblox developers** testing new mechanics or art styles.
- **Indie game fans** who like **minimalist, experimental** games.
- **Dragon/dino collectors** who enjoy **randomized generation** (think *Slime Rancher* meets *Tamagotchi*).

### **The Hatch Mechanic**
- **Tap to hatch**: Each egg contains a dragon with **one random trait** (e.g., "Glitchy" = flickers, "Hungry" = eats leaves).
- **No progression**: Just observe, name, and hatch more.
- **Visual focus**: Hand-drawn or low-poly dragons with **exaggerated behaviors**.

### **Why This Exists**
We’re checking if the **hatch-and-raise** loop feels fun enough to expand. If you’d play this for 5 minutes, we’ll build more.

---
**Note**: This is a **waitlist-only** prototype. No ads, no upsells—just a test.

Tips & notes

Tiny Dragon Hatchfest

Print your dragon egg sheet on sturdy paper. Color each scale however you like, then cut along the outer lines. Fold the base and stand your hatchling up—no glue required. Display on a desk, shelf, or use as a prop for storytelling play.

After downloading, open README.txt for a three-step overview of your digital dragon’s care. The guide lists a simple check-in routine, a log template, and where to keep the files on your device. No alerts, no updates—just a plain-text companion you can reference anytime. Keep the folder intact and revisit the log whenever you like.

### Hatching Tip
Gently mist the eggshell with room-temperature water once daily. This keeps the membrane hydrated without oversaturating, supporting a healthy hatch.

Hatch Your Dragon Egg

Print the template on 160–180 gsm cardstock for a sturdy fold. Use a ruler and blunt stylus to score the hatch lines before carefully cutting—this keeps the edges clean and the crack pattern even.

Keep unused pages in a dry folder; moisture can warp the paper and affect the fit.

Quick Tip: Setting Up a Cozy Hatchling Nest

What you need

ItemApprox. CostWhy it matters
Small cardboard box (e.g., a shoe box)Free/ <$2Gives a snug, enclosed space
Soft fleece or microfiber cloth$1‑$3Keeps the nest warm and comfortable
Low‑wattage LED night‑light (optional)$2‑$4Provides a gentle, steady glow without overheating
The “Tiny Dragon Hatchfest” Nest‑Care Sheet (included in your download)—Guides you through daily checks

Step‑by‑step

  1. Line the box – Cut the fleece to fit the bottom and sides of the box, then fold it in to create a padded “cave.”
  2. Add the Nest‑Care Sheet – Print the sheet (found on page 7 of the digital pack) and tape it to the inside of the lid. It includes a simple temperature chart and feeding reminders.
  3. Place the night‑light – If using, position the LED at the box’s edge so the light diffuses gently through the fleece.
  4. Introduce your hatchling – Gently place the baby dragon in the center of the nest. Close the lid loosely (leave a small gap for airflow).
  5. Daily check‑in – Use the chart on the Nest‑Care Sheet to confirm the nest stays between 78‑82 °F (25‑28 °C). Adjust the night‑light distance if needed.

Why it works

  • Enclosed space mimics a dragon’s natural burrow, reducing stress.
  • Fleece retains body heat while staying breathable, preventing overheating.
  • The Nest‑Care Sheet keeps you organized without needing extra apps or gadgets.

Tip: Swap the fleece for a fresh piece every 3‑4 days to keep the nest smelling fresh and hygienic. Happy hatching!

Quick tip: Place the egg on a flat, room-temperature surface. Avoid direct heat sources or drafts—stable ambient warmth is all that’s needed to support the natural hatching process.

The digital download includes printable habitat layout sheets, milestone stickers to track progress, and a short illustrated story to read while the egg rests. Everything is designed for offline use: print, set up, and watch the magic unfold.
