Roblox Localization Sync and Translation Key Manager

Simplify localization for your Roblox games.

Keep all your translation keys in sync, automate updates, and reduce the manual work that slows you down.

What it does

  • Central key repository – Store every string you use in a single place so you never duplicate work.
  • Automatic sync – Push new keys or updated texts to all projects that use them, instantly.
  • Version control – Track changes, roll back to previous versions, and see who edited what.
  • Export helpers – Generate ready‑to‑use JSON or CSV files for the Roblox Localization system.
  • Team collaboration – Share a workspace with translators or other developers and set permissions.

Who it’s for

  • Roblox developers building games that support multiple languages.
  • Localization teams that need to keep content consistent across multiple projects.
  • Project managers who want an audit trail of all localization changes.

How it works

  1. Add a key – Create a new key in the manager with a default English value.
  2. Assign to projects – Link the key to one or more of your Roblox places.
  3. Update – When you change the key’s text, the manager pushes the new value to every linked place.
  4. Export – Download a localization bundle that you can upload to Roblox Studio or use directly in your game code.

Key benefits

  • Time savings – No more manual copy‑paste or manual uploads.
  • Consistency – Every project uses the same text, reducing translation drift.
  • Auditability – A clear history of who changed what and when.
  • Collaboration – Team members can work together without stepping on each other’s toes.

Tips & notes

Quick Tip: Keep Your Roblox Localization Files in Sync Across Projects

If you have more than one Roblox game or a shared library that needs the same set of localized strings, the Roblox Localization Sync and Translation Key Manager makes it easy to keep every file up to date.

Here’s a short “mini‑how‑to” that shows the core workflow:

  1. Place the Manager

Drop the downloaded LocalizationManager folder into the ServerScriptService of each game that uses the shared localization data.

  1. Configure the Sync Path

In LocalizationManager/Config.lua set:

syncFolder = workspace:WaitForChild("LocalizationSync") -- Folder in the ReplicatedStorage
localeList = { "en", "es", "fr", "de" } -- Add any languages you use
  1. Run a One‑Time Sync
   local Manager = require(script.Parent.LocalizationManager)
   Manager.syncAllLocales()

This pulls the latest keys from the master copy and writes them to each project’s Localizations folder.

  1. Automate on Build

Add the sync call to your GameSetup script so that every time you run the game locally, the keys are refreshed automatically.

   Manager.syncAllLocales()
  1. Check for Missing Translations

After syncing, you can run a quick check that prints out any keys that are missing a translation in a specific language:

   local missing = Manager.findMissingTranslations("es")
for _, key in ipairs(missing) do
       warn("Missing Spanish translation for:", key)
   end

Why It Helps

  • Consistency – All your games see exactly the same set of keys.
  • Time‑saving – One command updates every project instead of editing each file separately.
  • Error‑free – The manager flags missing entries before you publish, reducing last‑minute bugs.

Just follow the steps above, and you’ll have a single source of truth for all your Roblox localizations. Happy translating!
